Wooden wicks and candle bases

That's right, wooden wicks for candle making! Once lit, they emit such a gentle crackle that they transform your candles into a tiny mini fireplace. Handmade and made from FSC-certified wood, they come with their steel base.

Available in 2 widths:

• Medium (long): 0.5 in width x 5 in length - for containers with a 3 in opening
• Medium (short): 0.5 in width x 2 in length - for containers with a 3 in opening (perfect for our 125 ml glass containers)
• Large: 0.625 in width x 5 in length - for containers with a 3.5 in opening

Each set includes 5 wicks of the same size + 5 bases

Wooden Wicks

Why choose wooden wicks?

For the delightful smell of wood and the captivating sound of crackling. That alone is worth a lot! Hehe.

First, compared to cotton wicks (cotton requires a lot of water and pesticides), our wooden wicks come from eco-responsible forestry practices.

In addition, candles made with wooden wicks last longer: the wooden wick burns more gently than the cotton wick because the wooden wick burns at a lower temperature than cotton. It is therefore also safer.

The Flame | Q&A

• Does your wick extinguish itself? Is the flame very small?

It's most likely the wick size that's the problem. A wooden wick must be trimmed very short, to 5mm from the wax surface, as it is the wax that rises by capillarity into the wick that keeps the flame lit, not the wood.

Similarly, it is important to maintain the wick by removing carbonized portions by pinching them with your fingers (once the wick has cooled!) after each use.
