This botanical extract derived from babchi seeds is establishing itself as the number one alternative (or supplement!) to retinol. Retinol may sometimes not be (or be less) appreciated: while well-known for its effectiveness on skin in search of eternal youth, it is synthetic, photosensitizing, and can prove to be irritating and drying.

A naturally derived alternative like bakuchiol, endowed with the same impressive cosmetic properties, non-photosensitizing and well-tolerated by the skin, is an excellent deal!

Bakuchiol:

• stimulates collagen production and regenerates the skin, for firmer skin, a renewed and smoother complexion, and reduced wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots

• fights against premature skin aging by protecting it from the harmful effects of the sun and pollution

• is purifying, antibacterial, prevents the appearance of pimples, and soothes inflammation associated with their arrival if they dare to show up. It also acts on sebum oxidation, which reduces the appearance of dreaded blackheads. A hat trick for acne-prone skin!

Our bakuchiol is water-soluble. It is therefore soluble in water, aqueous ingredients (hydrosols, juices, and aloe gel), and in emulsified (already made) moisturizer. See the How to use · our ideas tab to find out how to enjoy its great properties with ease.

Dosage: our bakuchiol should be used at a concentration of 1 to 3% in the recipes where it is incorporated or added, but the following guidelines will be useful for you:

• Face: 0.5 to 1%
• Eye contour: 0.1 to 0.5%
• Body: 1 to 3%
  

Good to know: 1 ml = 1 g = 32 drops. Example: if you add bakuchiol to a 50 ml moisturizer at a 1% concentration, you must use 0.5 ml of bakuchiol (50 ml x 1% = 0.5 ml), which is 16 drops.

It is not oil-soluble. Do not add it to an oil serum or a face butter.

When making moisturizers, add it during the cooling phase.

It is recommended to perform a patch test of the finished product in the crook of the elbow before use to ensure that the skin does not show signs of sensitivity to this botanical extract.
