Does your flushed complexion dampen your spirits every time you catch your reflection in a mirror? We understand the symptoms, we treat them naturally… and we even conceal them. Just a little bit.
What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a skin condition that manifests as redness on the cheeks and nose (sometimes also on the forehead and chin). It is common in people with fair complexions who blush easily. You may notice the appearance of telangiectasia, small, dilated blood vessels that are visible on the cheeks and nose. This symptom is commonly known as “couperose.”
The onset of redness is exacerbated by consuming spicy foods, alcohol, or caffeine, by exposure to the sun or intense cold, or following stress or strong emotions.
The causes of rosacea are not well understood. So, aside from avoiding the aggravating factors mentioned above, medicine doesn’t have many solutions to offer! Fortunately, several botanical ingredients and facial treatments (based on the gentle power of plants) have proven effective in soothing redness and reducing the appearance of blood vessels.

Couperose and rosacea routine: our tips
Here is our skincare routine designed specifically for fiery little cheeks!
1. Cleanse the face with a gentle cleanser
Since commercial cleansers often contain irritating ingredients, those prone to redness will prefer to use gentle products or make their own cleanser and makeup remover.
Above all, cleanse your face with lukewarm or cool water, not hot water, so as not to overly stimulate circulation! It is also important to dry your face gently by patting it rather than rubbing it with your towel!
2. Apply a soothing mask
Designed for sunburns, our glowing face mask recipe is perfect for relieving the redness, dryness, and tightness caused by rosacea. Meanwhile, our lavandin and chamomile hydrating mask recipe is ideal for soothing irritated skin.
Are you the type who prefers a ready-to-use product? Our Chamomile face mask – sensitive and normal skin will be your best friend!
You can use these masks once or twice a week for instant relief!
3. Spray on a softening toner
To hydrate the skin and reduce redness, toners are excellent. Our soothing after-sun lotion recipe contains lavender hydrosol (which could easily be substituted with geranium or peppermint hydrosol) and aloe juice, anti-inflammatory ingredients renowned for their effectiveness.

4. Hydrate your face with a cream for sensitive skin
Skin prone to rosacea tends to be dry and struggle to retain moisture. If this applies to you, it is important to hydrate from the inside by consuming at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day, and to hydrate your face from the outside by applying a moisturizing cream.
In the “perfection” department, our Chamomile face cream – sensitive and normal skin could quickly become your favorite cream, but for the DIY side, we designed an ideal recipe specifically for sensitive skin prone to redness:
Face cream - sensitive skin, rosacea and couperose
5. The ultimate weapon: slather on an anti-redness serum
If you could only prioritize one step in your routine, this would be it! You have 2 choices: either you use our Chamomile face serum – sensitive and normal skin, or… you concoct your own serum! It’s really simple.
Our anti-redness serum recipe contains the most powerful ingredients to soothe redness caused by rosacea and even helps repair blood vessels.

6. Conceal redness with a color corrector
Does redness persist? You can neutralize it by applying greenish makeup. Since green is the complementary color to red, it returns the skin to a neutral tone.
Try our color corrector recipe, a balm similar to a concealer designed specifically for rosy complexions and redness.

7. Bonus: follow-up with naturopathy
Correlations have been established between rosacea and digestive health, particularly insufficient production of hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes, food intolerances, or an imbalance of the gut microbiota.
Registered naturopaths are equipped to advise you and help you optimize your digestion. Consult the website of the Association des naturopathes agréés du Québec to find someone to support you.
