How it works

More of a disc than a cup, the Nixit inserts completely differently. One-size-fits-all, it adapts to all shapes with its super soft silicone and totally ingenious design. It has a capacity of 70 ml and can be worn for up to 12 hours without emptying.

The Nixit disc is positioned differently from a tampon or a standard menstrual cup. It should be positioned above the vaginal canal, behind the pubic bone. This positioning allows it to hold naturally, without suction.

It clears the vaginal entrance and even allows for penetrative sexual intercourse while wearing it. Yes, seriously!

How to use it

1. Boil to clean

Before first use and between cycles, clean the Nixit by boiling it for 5 minutes.

2. Pinch and insert

Pinch the disc between your thumb and forefinger. Insert the disc by sliding it backward and downward, towards your tailbone.

3. Hook behind the pubic bone and check

Make sure to push the Nixit behind the pubic bone, and with a finger, lift it and position it properly in place behind the bone. See the animation.

4. Remove the disc

With your finger, hook the rim and pull the Nixit down into the vaginal canal. Gently remove it. The first few times, it's easier to do this over the toilet or even better: in the shower! This is the slightly more perilous part, due to the risk of spilling menstrual blood if you go too fast or tilt the disc downwards, but you quickly get the hang of it.
