10%... What?

This essential oil is diluted at a 10% ratio, meaning 1 part essential oil to 9 parts fractionated coconut oil.

Therefore, you must multiply by 10 the quantity of any essential oil labeled "10%" to substitute it for a pure essential oil.

For concoctions, if a large quantity of 10% essential oil is used, the amount of vegetable oil in our recipes must be reduced to compensate for the volume occupied by the vegetable oil contained in the diluted essential oil.

Some examples:

• Drops: a recipe calls for 1 drop of pure essential oil. This pure essential oil can be substituted with 10 drops of 10% essential oil. This tiny amount has no real impact on the total volume of a recipe.

• Milliliters: a recipe calls for 0.5 ml of pure essential oil. This pure essential oil can be substituted with 5 ml of 10% essential oil. In such a case, this quantity has a greater impact on the total volume of a recipe. Thus, 4.5 ml (5 - 0.5 = 4.5, right!) is subtracted from the amount of vegetable oil the recipe might contain to adjust the total oil volume.

Precautions

• Avoid during the first 3 months of pregnancy as a precautionary measure.

• Pure Roman chamomile essential oil is very gentle and suitable for children and babies over 3 months old. In this case, however, it should be diluted at a rate of 0.25% to 0.5% (2.5% to 5% for 10% essential oil) for children aged 3 months to 2 years, 1% to 2% (10% to 20% for 10% essential oil) for children aged 2 to 6 years, and 1.5% to 3% (15% to 30% for 10% essential oil) for children aged 6 to 15 years.
