Hemp butter

Finally, a local alternative to vegetable butters! Hemp does not naturally produce butter, but a very rich oil that deeply nourishes can be extracted from its seeds. We love it for the care of dehydrated, dry, and/or mature skin. The fine oil is then mixed with a soy butter base, offering a delicious product for the skin, used in the same way as shea or mango butter.

Bonus: the hemp and soy used in this butter come from Canada!

Eager for information?

We love it in whipped body butters, balms, and hair masks. It can also be used to make creams, conditioners, liniment..! It should be used in smaller quantities on the face due to the comedogenicity index of the soy butter base (2-3).

Dosage: a little softer than its shea and mango cousins, it may sometimes be necessary to slightly increase the proportion of butter in your recipes to achieve the same kind of texture.

Texture: rich, thick, solid below 36°C

Saponification index: 175 - 200 (NaOH : 0.134 ; KOH : 0.188)
