Oat butter

Oat butter, a local alternative in the wonderful world of vegetable butters!

Oats do not naturally produce butter; it is from their grains that a delicious emollient, soothing oil is extracted, perfect for sensitive skin. This fine oil is then blended with a soy butter base, offering a delightful product for the skin and used in the same way as shea or mango butter.

The oats and soy used in this butter come from Canada!

Usage

We love it in whipped body butters, balms and hair masks. It can also be used to make creams, conditioners or liniments!

It is used in smaller quantities in facial care due to the comedogenicity index of the soy butter base (2-3).

Dosage: a little softer than its cousins shea and mango, it is sometimes necessary to slightly increase the proportion of butter in your recipes to obtain the same kind of texture. 

Texture: rich, thick, solid below 36°C
