Some little medicinal iced drinks, made from plants, sound good, dear witches?
A very long time ago, I was a fan of the caffeinated (and super mega sugary) iced drinks from that famous fast food chain that makes them its summer signature. Can you guess which one? Times have changed! Now I have fun whipping up refreshing homemade drinks to avoid the pile of waste I'd otherwise create (straw, cup, lid) and, most of all, the ingredients my body doesn't recognize and really doesn't need.
If you ever feel like treating yourself a little on our shop, check out our rainbow lemonade and hibiscus iced tea blends. So refreshing it'll knock you off your chair!

So here are three super easy drinks to make to cool you down during heat waves while being kind to the planet and your body!
Plant-based iced coffee
Iced Golden Milk
CHOCOCHAGA ICED COFFEE
A friend shared this Crudessence recipe based on chaga decoction with me right when I'd just quit my morning coffee. I was looking for something with a similar taste and colour.
This recipe is de-ca-dent. Especially iced. Just add ice cubes!
It might be a bit pricier than Marie's version (and the other drinks in this article), given the price of hazelnuts and chaga, but oh so tasty. I'd describe it as a liquid Nutella (super good for your health, of course!) that only wants the best for you. My boys were fighting over their cups to drain the other's last sip. Yes, there was some spilling! 😉 This recipe takes a bit of advance prep, but it's truly worth it!
For the recipe, visit the Crudescence blog. Since then, I've tweaked the recipe slightly to my taste. I prefer to skip the vanilla and add a bit more raw cacao and maple syrup than suggested, so 2 tbsp raw cacao and 3 tbsp maple syrup.
I love this drink, it really reminds me of the taste of coffee, and the colour and texture are spot on too. As a replacement for that addictive substance, it's really the one that satisfied me the most. Serve hot or cold!
Hope these drinks hit the spot for your taste buds craving something refreshing.
Happy end of summer to you all!
Estelle xx
